SUMMARY:Making Safety Work 2.0 with Matt Schlapfer
DESCRIPTION:NorthChamber is excited to continue the Making Safety Work series. In partnership with Nextera and Golden Bay Cement\, we are excited that Matt Schlapfer will return to further advance error reduction for organisations. \nHow do we reduce risks\, especially those attributed to people in our day-to-day operations? This is a critical question for many business operators large and small\, particularly for organisations operating in high-risk environments. Understanding and managing people’s personal tendencies can unlock better outcomes that reduce errors\, improve safety\, reliability\, productivity\, and effectiveness in the workplace. \nPlease join us for this dive into how the practical application of Human and Organisational Performance (HOP) tools can transform the way work gets done. \n\nThis is not just theory – explore real-world tools and methods to make safety work practically.\nLearn more about how different personalities\, communication styles and behavioural tendencies impact your H&S outcomes.\nUnderstand how managing personality tendencies can unlock better outcomes when the right tools are applied the right way.\nTake tools and principles away that you can start embedding into daily operations for not only sustainable H&S outcomes but overall performance improvement.\n\nHere’s some comments from our last Making Safety Work 1.0 session: \n“I wanted to extend my heartfelt thanks for the exceptional Health and Safety session you conducted.  The engaging approach made the session both informative and enjoyable” \n “A fantastic event – went in without any expectations and was blown away.  Has sparked a lot of conversations post event. Very well run with great structure”. \nWho should attend? \nThis Keynote and Workshop is for anyone ready to move beyond talking about compliance safety and wants some new tools to make safety work pragmatically.  You can start embedding these principles and tools into daily operations for not only sustainable H&S outcomes but performance improvement overall in your business. This is relevant to small business owners. \nFormat \n9.30am-10.00am | Meet and greet and networking\n10.00am – 12.00pm | Welcome and Keynote from Matt Schlapfer\n12.00pm-12.45pm | Lunch (included with ticket)\n12.45pm – 3.00pm | Workshop Rotation\n3.00pm – 3.30pm | Wrap up and Key Takeaways \nWorkshop 1 | Matt Schlapfer – Understanding Deviations\nThis 60-min how-to workshop will dive into the what’s\, how’s\, and whys of people deviating from guidance and will provide the Deviation Analysis tool to assist you in managing the errors\, deviations\, and violations associated with work-as-imagined versus work-as-done.  It isn’t just a concept\, there are methods\, systems\, processes\, and tools to better understand and manage them. \nWorkshop 2 | Di Ah-Chan – Lifting Risk Capability\n \nHow can assurance look with contemporary safety tools?  This contemporary HSW workshop provides you with skills to expand compliance assurance to risk capable assurance where people will enjoy the visit! We will explore where you can integrate your new tools to strengthen obligations\, manage risk better and improve your operational excellence. The session will unpack the improvement cycle to move our verification and audit process to one that incorporates and provide insights into Work as Imagined vs Work as Done. \nBONUS | When you purchase tickets you will be sent a link to unlock your own personality tendencies. e-Colours is a simple yet highly effective tool that highlights different personality styles\, communication styles and behavioral tendencies. As a group we’re going to take those insights and elevate our conversation. Purchase your tickets and complete the e-colours quiz by 10 June 2025 then you’ll receive free e-colour bands to use during the Workshop. \n\n  \nOur sincere thanks to Golden Bay Cement and NextEra for supporting us to bring Matt Schlapfer back to Northland for a Keynote and Workshop on Advanced Error Reduction in Organisations.

SUMMARY:BA5 Hosted by Port Nikau 2.0
DESCRIPTION:Due to overwhelming demand for this BA5\, Port Nikau are delighted to be hosting a second event for those that were not able to secure a space for the first time around. \nA new\, high-quality residential development is coming to Whangārei and the team at Port Nikau are really excited to share it with you. \nThe future of residential development looks vastly different to that of 10 or even 20 years ago. The days of the quarter acre residential section are evolving\, as access to land becomes more difficult and people are choosing to live in more sustainable\, connected communities where resources\, such as green spaces\, can be shared\, rather than everyone needing their own backyard. \nThe Master Plan for Port Nikau’s 100-hectare modern waterfront community has been thoughtfully designed to create a relaxed urban lifestyle offering convenience and connection. Residential Stage 1 Arataki marks the beginning of this exciting development. \nPlease come along to hear from the team behind Port Nikau about the Master Plan\, planned community amenities and connections to Whangārei as well as plans for the future including a town centre and sporting facilities. This development is set to be a great asset to Whangārei and marks an exciting time in the growth of\, and investment in\, the city. \nPlease come along to what is sure to be a very informative BA5 and enjoy the usual good chats\, drinks\, and nibbles. \n\nAbout Port Nikau | The Port Nikau Development represents over a decade of planning\, with the vision to create a new way of living for Whangārei. The development represents 100 hectares of residential\, commercial and marine opportunities\, which will come to life in the next 5-10 years. \nMore – www.portnikau.co.nz
