DESCRIPTION:Calling year 9 and 10 high school students\, take a Tech Step forward these holidays and jump into the exciting world of game development with our Game Programming Boot Camps.  \nThese one-day\, action-packed workshops are perfect for rangatahi who are keen to understand and explore the world of game development. \nLearners will work on two beginner-friendly projects that will help them… \n\nunderstand the basics of coding and game design\nlearn core programming concepts like variables\, loops\, and functions\nexplore key game development skills such as collision detection\, scoring systems\, and user interaction.\n\nAt the end of the day students will leave with at least two working games and a repository to store their code. \nThe workshops are a fun and engaging environment to explore creativity\, develop problem-solving skills\, and get hands-on experience with coding. It doesn’t matter if students have prior programming experience or are complete beginners\, this boot camp is the perfect opportunity to learn the essentials of game development and spark an interest in technology. \n Dates: Wednesday\, October 9th 9.00am – 3.00pm \nWhere:  Kaitaia Digital Hub. 50-64 Commerce St\, Kaitaia \nProvided: All laptops and software will be provided. Morning tea and lunch catered for. These are important topics that impact the future of our CBD\, your input as a stakeholder is vital. \nTopics to be covered include: \n\nCity Centre Draft Parking Plan\nThe John Street upgrade\nWhangarei CBD Flood Strategy\nRose Street Bus Hub\nT2 Priority Lane\n\nWe will also talk about how you can feed into designs and how\, as key stakeholders\, you would like to be communicated with to make this process easier in the future. \nOur Whangārei CBD is a diverse space that poses unique challenges\, and some amazing opportunities.
