SUMMARY:Industry Event | Making Safety Work with Rob Fisher
DESCRIPTION:In association with Channel Infrastructure and NextEra\, NorthChamber is pleased to bring Rob Fisher to Northland. \nRob has ‘superior experience in high hazard industries’ his clients span sectors such as petrochemicals\, oils and gas\, utilities and manufacturing\, across 40 countries\, he is an author\, executive mentor and international keynote speaker on topics such as safety\, human and organisational learning\, energy and leadership. \nHe joins us in Northland to provide a practical perspective on the integration of Work as Done (WAD)\, i.e. how the job is actually carried out in reality versus Work as Imagined (WAI)\, i.e. work as people think a job should be done\, without considering real-world challenges. \nWhy should I attend? Health and Safety is a hot topic right now. With the review of the Act by the Minster Van Velden\, the Ports of Auckland CEO prosecution\, Northland power outage event\, and changes to temporary traffic management guidelines\, businesses across NZ are asking “what is the next logical step to create better outcomes for our workplaces\, workers and work?” \nWAD versus WAI and other contemporary safety approaches are reshaping the H&S conversation. This event will spark the conversation about what can be done at the front line and collaboratively as a community to make necessary changes to shift from compliance safety to practical\, real front-line safety in Northland. \nWho should attend? Anyone interested in intentional leadership\, sustainable improvement and operational excellence and workplace safety. \nAll attendees will be eligible to win a $500 voucher from Northland H&S training specialists Training 4 Safety. \n\nEvent Details\n10.00am – 12.00pm | Keynote with Rob Fisher\n12.00pm – 12.45pm | Lunch break (lunch included in ticket price)\n12.45pm – 2.15pm | Workshop (select ONE)\n2.15pm – 3.00pm | Closing comments \nPricing\nKeynote + Workshop (NorthChamber Member) | $90 Incl GST\nKeynote + Workshop (Non-Member) | $140 Incl GST \nWorkshop Options\nOption 1 | Intentional Leadership with Rob Fisher\nThis interactive workshop will discuss the leader’s knowledge\, language\, and behaviours needed to create sustainable improvement and operational excellence.  The workshop is based on “intentional leadership” through the Essential Leadership Cycle which has helped hundreds of organisations improve what they are already doing instead of introducing all new things.  You can get a jump start by listening to the Essential Leadership Cycle Podcast. \n  \nOption 2 | Understanding Deviations with Matt Schlapfer\nThis how-to workshop will dive into the what’s\, how’s\, and whys of people deviating from guidance and will provide the Deviation Analysis tool to assist you in managing the errors\, deviations\, and violations associated with work-as-imagined versus work-as-done.  It isn’t just a concept\, there are methods\, systems\, processes\, and tools to better understand and manage them. \n  \nOption 3 | Risk Averse to Risk Capable with Di Ah-Chan & Jo Zoricich\nThis contemporary HSW workshop provides a start point for practical tools which shifts your operations to understand being risk capable. In much of the work we do residual risk remains as its not feasible for all risk to be eliminated. Learn what options are available to ensure your business satisfies requirements of your supply chain and enhance current processes to assist your workflow to understand the gap of WAI vs WAD for safety and operational excellence. \n  \nProudly sponsored by:

His leadership has been instrumental in driving discussions around high-value\, sustainable products that position New Zealand as a global leader in agriculture and environmental stewardship. With over 20 years of experience in both the public and private sectors\, Jarred has led research on critical topics such as strategic sector framing\, alternative proteins\, and genetic technologies. \n\nAbout Jarred Mair | Jarred is the Chief Insight Officer at MPI and Executive Director of Te Puna Whakaaronui\, New Zealand’s leading food and fibre sector think tank.
