The Northland Community Foundation aims to encourage philanthropic giving by Northlanders for Northland to benefit the region in perpetuity.
Best known for its fundraising role in Project Promise (to build a Cancer Centre for Northland) the Foundation is now moving into a new phase with a mission to encourage endowment funds and bequests for the benefit of Northland now and in the future.
We have a number of funds you can donate to, these funds include:
Local based funds:
- Far North Betterment Fund
- Waipu Fund
- Northern Wairoa Fund
- Northland Fund
Community organisation endowment funds:
- Mountains to Sea Conservation Fund
- Puketi Forest Trust
- I Have a Dream Charitable Trust
- Sport Northland Fund
- Volunteering Whangarei
- Waipu Surf Lifesaving Club
Northland District Health Board
- Health Fund Plus
- Jim Carney Cancer Treatment Centre
All of these funds are held for perpetuity (unless otherwise requested) and once they reach $50,000 the interest from these invested funds can be donated back to the community as a grant. This means the fund just keeps on growing, supporting our local communities services forever!!
