| As Minister for Small Business I’m writing to business associations up and down the country. I’m interested in hearing from you and members of Northland Chamber of Commerce about the issues that are important in developing, operating, and growing businesses.The Government has a number of ongoing initiatives to encourage the development of small and medium businesses. These include;
– Recent announcements in Budget 2015, such as:
– Lower ACC levies.
– More funding for the roll out of ultra-fast broadband and rural broadband.
– Implementing the New Zealand Business Number (NZBN).
– Improving opportunities for small and medium businesses to access the Government procurement programme (GETS).
– The business.govt.nz website, which brings together information and resources from across government in one place, making it easier for businesses to find and understand government policy, obligations, and opportunities for assistance.
– More than 100 other specific initiatives to assist small and medium businesses through the Government’s Business Growth Agenda.
I’d really like to hear from you and your members about what the Government can do to further remove barriers and help small and medium businesses grow.
