Expressions of Interest: Northland Employer Roundtable – A breakfast discussion around employment in Tai Tokerau including workforce challenges and opportunities, and an insight into ChamberWorks
We would love to hear from local businesses interested in being part of a small, focused roundtable discussion on employment, workforce challenges, and opportunities in Northland.
This session will also mark the local introduction of ChamberWorks – a national programme supported by the New Zealand Chambers of Commerce, delivered locally through Chamber, in partnership with the Ministry of Social Development. This new partnership approach aims to better connect employers, talent, and workforce support.
About the Roundtable
This is not a public event, and attendance is not automatic.
We are keeping the group small to allow for open, practical discussion.
The kōrero will explore:
- Workforce challenges and trends in Northland
- Roles that are hardest to fill and why
- What “work‑ready” looks like in practice
- Where employers and jobseekers aren’t quite connecting
- How ChamberWorks can help, and what we should focus on next

👥 Note, numbers will be limited for the roundtable, there will be further opportunity at a later date for wider engagement with our business community.
Ideal participants include businesses or organisations that:
- Employ a large or diverse workforce
- Find it challenging to recruit and retain staff
- Work across the employment sector and would be able to apply multiple insights across the employment system or multiple sectors
- Have experience (or challenges) in connecting jobseekers with employment
