Game Programming Boot Camp: Level Up Your Tech Skills! 10th October 2024

Calling year 9 and 10 high school students, take a Tech Step forward these holidays and jump into the exciting world of game development with our Game Programming Boot Camps.
These one-day, action-packed workshops are perfect for rangatahi who are keen to understand and explore the world of game development.
Learners will work on two beginner-friendly projects that will help them…
- understand the basics of coding and game design
- learn core programming concepts like variables, loops, and functions
- explore key game development skills such as collision detection, scoring systems, and user interaction.
At the end of the day students will leave with at least two working games and a repository to store their code.
The workshops are a fun and engaging environment to explore creativity, develop problem-solving skills, and get hands-on experience with coding. It doesn’t matter if students have prior programming experience or are complete beginners, this boot camp is the perfect opportunity to learn the essentials of game development and spark an interest in technology.

Where: Kaitaia Digital Hub. 50-64 Commerce St, Kaitaia
Provided: All laptops and software will be provided. Morning tea and lunch catered for. Limited spaces (12) per workshop.
