Joblab – an innovative CBD and employment activation hub on now in the Stand Shopping Centre and running for the month of Feb 2020.
Emerging out of our ongoing Strandlab initiative, Joblab is a partnership between NorthChamber and Ministry of Social Development. It is produced by Strandlab partner AwhiWorld as well as local events company Snap Events.
Joblab will turn the Strand Shopping Centre (Whangarei CBD) into a recruitment and employment showcase for Te Tai Tokerau.
Employers and training providers will have multiple opportunities to showcase their business and connect with potential employees and course participants. (including seminar slots, interview opportunities and expo areas). Jobseekers can attend seminars and potentially interview for roles.
The month will be themed around industry sectors:
- Week 1 3-7 February – Focus on retail, hospitality, administration, aged care
- Week 2 10-14 February – Focus on NZ Services
- Week 3 17-21 February – Focus on civil construction and trades
- Week 4 24-28 February – Focus on primary industries and creative technologies
Other sectors and businesses will also have opportunities to be involved.
