dreamstorm is an AI strategy studio and build practice based in Whangārei, and it does two things. The first is strategy. We help values-led small and medium businesses work out where AI and technology actually fit, what’s worth doing, and what to skip. Sometimes the honest answer is that you don’t need to build anything at all, and we’ll say so. Not adopting is a valid outcome.
The second is building. When it does make sense, we build the thing: custom apps, web platforms, AI tools, and digital solutions designed around how your business actually runs, not off-the-shelf software you have to bend yourself to fit. What sets dreamstorm apart is that both stratgies live in the same place. Founder Lian Passmore brings fourteen years in human systems and capability strategy alongside a Master of Technological Futures, so whether you need clear thinking, a working build, or both, you’re not stitching together separate people to get there.
Everything is grounded in kaupapa Māori and Pacific principles, with data sovereignty and ethical design built into the architecture, not bolted on at the end.
