The Northland Society of Arts Inc. was established back in 1959 by a group of local artists, and is still going strong 65 years later with currently around 300 local artist members.
A non-profit organisation whose mission is to promote the understanding, practice and study of art in New Zealand and in Northland in particular as an element of everyday life, and to encourage the production of works of art in Northland.
The Society’s headquarters are located in Reyburn House, a historically listed building on the waterfront at the Town Basin, a building of significance to Whangarei’s history. The house is located in gardens with almost 100 heritages Roses and active art and pottery studio next door.
