How to Cast your vote in the Local Elections

As well as postal votes, you can go to NGEN Room, Forum North or our Customer Services Centre in Ruakākā to cast your vote, complete a Special Vote, or get help if you haven’t enrolled.

Women’s Rugby World Cup – 8 October – 12 November 2022

The Women’s Rugby World Cup is happening in Aotearoa from 8 October – 12 November, with four match days being held in Whangārei on 9, 15, 22 and 29 October at the Northland Events Centre. Rugby World Cup 2021 will be a world-class festival of rugby and music, celebrating wāhine toa on and off the field and providing unforgettable moments for fans. A showcase of Māori and Pasifika culture will entertain fans in between matches, with delicious food, performances and an exciting line-up of local talent to complement the on-field action.

Whangarei Town Basin Facility Upgrade Begins

Fences are up in the Town Basin! But everything can still be accessed – this is the start of an expansion that has been planned since 2019.
The work is starting behind Claphams National Clock Museum with a paving upgrade and a new toilet block, which will become the main entrance for people arriving by bus. Read more.

For the winter season, the Shutter Room is only open to the public on Fridays 1-4pm. Drop in for a chat or help with all things photographic. The ‘Photo Workstation’ has a Mac with Photoshop and Lightroom for you to use.

Parkrun is back now that we are in Orange. Parkrun is a free, weekly, timed 5k run for everyone held in Whangarei. Meet at Te Matau A Pohe Bridge carpark on Port Road at 8:00am every Saturday morning.
